Right now's probably a good time to revisit
Tina Turner. She's probably best remembered to anyone under 50 as a giant-haired ballad singer from the '80s, but Tina used to be
badass. After all, it's not everyone who can say they duetted with
Mick Jagger and were in
The Who's movie
Tommy. We'd also suggest checking out some footage of her in the '70s with the Ikettes doing songs like "Proud Mary," "River Deep, Mountain High" and "I Want to Take You Higher." That's hot stuff and there wasn't any lip sync, sing-to-backing-track crap in those days.
