The UCI C2 event took place on a 3.5km circuit along the sandy shores of the Boulder Reservoir. Gould got away early as a crash split the field on the first lap. The Luna rider started with a lead of 15-20 seconds but built her advantage to more than a minute by the end of the 40-minute race.
